Game Design na Dumativa

Em nossa segunda aula de questões de mídia digital, tivemos uma palestra com o Mairon, game designer da Dumativa. A Dumativa é um estúdio criativo para desenvolvimento de mídia interativa sediado aqui no Rio de Janeiro! Eles ficaram bastante conhecidos por conta do game : A lenda do herói. Um jogo de plataforma, action, aventura e com forte presença da música, que contextua todo o game a partir de músicas cantadas.

“Somos uma empresa fundada por músicos, escritores, designers, programadores e engenheiros, todos trabalhando juntos para criar e executar projetos de conteúdo artístico nas seguintes áreas: música, animação, artes visuais, videogames e alfabetização.”

Mairon contou para nós um pouco sobre como é o trabalho de um game designer e também nos apresentou vários tópicos importantes sobre a criação de um game e o profissional inserido neste mundo do desenvolvimento!

Game design - O design de jogos, ou desenho de jogos (do inglês game design) é uma extensão da prática do design cujo foco é a criação de jogos. O profissional da área de design pode atuar em todas as etapas da produção dos jogos, desde o desenvolvimento da temática ou roteiro, produção da arte conceitual (esboços e rascunhos da história e personagens ), modelagem 3D e chegando até a programação, no caso de jogos digitais.

Organização, conhecimento amplo , ponte entre as partes necessárias para criação de um jogo. ( ex : conecta o artista digital e o programador )

Ele também explicou sobre algumas verdades duras de um game designer...

. Jogo : produto . Jogo: escopo e cronograma . Jogo : muito trabalho . Jogo : uma carreira que depende de você

Após isso, ele falou sobre o “high concept” uma das partes mais apreciadas por muitos game designers.

. O que é um high concept?

Várias ideais e histórias e tentar juntar em uma fase . Uma frase que resume o seu jogo. Do high concept você começa a responder as perguntas do seu jogo : . Quem é o protagonista ? . Quem é o vilão? . Qual o objetivo ?

. Para que serve um high concept ? . Tá... Mas como eu faço um high concept ? . E agora... O que eu faço com isso ?

Com essas perguntas descobrimos que o high concept é fundamental para a produção de um jogo... sem ele a história não tem um rumo. Com ele você dará a diretrix para sua história.

- Falamos sobre Game proposal, um resumo documentado que contém : (high concept, narrativa, jogabilidade, arte, programação, música e governança)

. O que é um game proposal ? . Para que serve um game proposal ? . Tá... Mas como. Faço um game proposal ? . Sério? Tudo isso ? Como faz ?

História de Steve :

Em um futuro pós apocalíptico, alguns humanos restantes partiram em busca de um planeta com condições similares a antiga terra para reestabelecer sua civilização. Os pesquisadores então, descobriram um planeta denominado por “Ceres”, planeta este que possuía condições adequadas para existência de vida. Ao pousarem em Ceres, a tripulação humana notou que a vida daquele planeta era muito diferente da antiga terra. Uma raça plantae humanoide inteligente povoava Ceres - Criaturas meio humanas, meio planta. Os nativos tinham pele de tons variados, no geral verde, azul e lilás. Seus cabelos eram compostos por folhas que cresciam de suas cabeças, eram altos e possuíam partes de planta revestindo todo o corpo. A atmosfera de Ceres no entanto, possuía altas taxas de um gás tóxico aos humanos, o que dificultaria a vivência em Ceres.

O encontro inicial entre os nativos e humanos foi amigável. Porém, ao longo do ano de pesquisas em Ceres foi descoberto que a estrutura química dos humanoides plantae era capaz de gerar um super. biocombustível, que além de possibilitar alimentação de todas as capsulas e naves trazidas para Ceres, possibilitaria que os humanos continuassem a explorar o sistema de Lira em busca de um planeta com um atmosfera mais adequada aos humanos.

Alguns humanos denominados Vegan Farmers, ficaram responsáveis de coletar bulbos ( Bulbarianos- humanoides plantae jovens ) já que os recém nascidos plantae eram a melhor fonte de combustível. Com o número crescente de bulbos desaparecidos, os nativos descobriram a aterrorizante situação e uma guerra entre humanos e plantae se iniciou.

Em um laboratório da grande nave Gaia ( nave principal dos terráqueos ). Um bulbo acabou por “ florescer “, após uma anomalia na energia do laboratório. Uma das cientistas acabou por libertar o bulbo apelidado de “ Steve “.

Steve fugiu e se juntou a uma tribo de plantae. Mais tarde após se desenvolver, a cientista visitou Steve em sua tribo com um disfarce e contou a Steve toda a verdade por trás de seu nascimento e a atrocidade que os humanos estavam fazendo. Steve prometeu resgatar os outros bulbos e salvar toda a civilização plantae dos Vegan farmers.
